Netball Super League is Back!

Netball Super League is Back!

Last weekend saw the long-anticipated return of the Netball Super League and with it, the first game of the season for Flyhawk’s partners London Pulse and Team Bath, both of which were sporting their equally striking new dresses, warm up attire and off court team apparel.

All 10 teams were in action this weekend, with five games being played back-to-back at the Nottingham Arena. The day saw an interesting array of results and certainly set the tone for what promises to be an exciting and unpredictable campaign.

London Pulse were taken to task by an impressive Manchester Thunder, landing on the wrong side of a 56-40 score line. London Pulse CEO and Head Coach, Sam Bird, summed it up perfectly when post game she commented that her side ‘were a little bit disconnected’ and that there were ‘too many unforced errors.’ We’ve got no doubt the talented Pulse players will reflect on this weekend and come back stronger Saturday when they go up against Surrey Storm. Off the court London Pulse clocked record merchandise sales over the weekend following some big kit launch collaboration campaigns with Flyhawk showing their fanbase is ever growing.

On the court, fortunes were more positive for Team Bath, who put together a confident and gritty performance which led to a 53-49 victory over Strathclyde Sirens. The storied franchise seemed to have been a little forgotten about in the pre-season discussions but with 3 Super League debutants impressing, alongside a host of strong veteran performances, we certainly think Team Bath are a side to keep a close eye on.

In a newly formed deal with the BBC, one game from each round of the 2024 season will be shown live. Team Bath can be seen on the BBC iPlayer this Saturday (24th February) when they take on the defending champions, Loughborough Lightning at 6pm. The girls will also be featured on the BBC in Round 3 when they host Severn Stars. Likewise, Team Bath’s Round 9 and final regular season game against Cardiff Dragons will also be available on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel.

If you’re a London Pulse fanatic then you’ll have to wait until Round 7 (30th March) and Round 8 (5th April) before you can watch the team live on the BBC, where they’ll be going international and taking on the Cardiff Dragons and Strathclyde Sirens, respectively. The team’s Round 3 match up against Loughborough Lightning, as well as the Round 6 encounter with Leeds Rhinos on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel.
